Located on existing John C. Calhoun Park property downtown North Augusta,
South Carolina this facility was developed as a collaborative effort between
the City of North Augusta and Mrs. Nita Denny. Mrs. Denny memorialized
her sister, Wanda Hutchins Fisher, and enshrined a pair of Mrs. Fisher’s
bronze shoes in an ornamental iron gazebo as Ms. Fisher was known to most
as ‘the woman who walked’ and will forever be remembered in
this public park.
